The Morpol Production process
Transported with care in an unbroken cool chain, fresh salmon are unpacked and processed at Morpol’s dedicated plant in Ustka on the Baltic coast of Northern Poland. The Pomeranian area has a long history of fishing and fish processing, offering a workforce ready accustomed to the stringent requirements of fish processing.
Our plant is purpose designed and unique to Morpol, as is the processing and smoking equipment. It is the largest and most technologically advanced salmon processing facility in the world. Scale brings benefits of efficiency that keep costs down and enable us to make best use of all by-products from processing. For example trimmings are further processed into delicious snacks, sausages and other products and polystyrene boxes are crushed, re-pelletized and sold as raw materials to the plastics industry.
Efficient people, equipment and workflow mean salmon are processed, packaged and despatched in just 24 hours.
